MISSION

Formed in 2009 by a collective of Northeast Minnesota musicians, IROMA works to encourage, promote, and popularize the creation and performance of original music on the Iron Range.

VISION

We live on the “modern” Iron Range, but every square mile is steeped in history—labor struggles, immigration waves, economic booms and busts, and the remnants of mighty sawmills and deep iron mines. Most of us grew up here and our families are tied to this landscape. We want our music to enliven and energize the Iron Range as it is today. We celebrate our strengths and build community resilience with our music.

A Glimpse Into IROMA Past

It all began with an idea and cascaded from there. Street shows at the 218 Taphouse were lively fun-filled family friendly events. After a reprieve due to venue closure and shutdowns, IROMA has rebooted with an Acoustic Concert Series and Singer/Songwriter Showcases.

“After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.”
